The risks and complications of LEEP are very rare, however we can sometimes see:

  • heavy bleeding (heavier than menstruation);
  • abdominal pain ;
  • fever;
  • smelly discharge;
  • incomplete removal of abnormal tissue;
  • partial closure of the cervix.

The advantages of LEEP

The main advantage of LEEP is a relatively painless and minimally invasive procedure allowing only the abnormal tissue to be removed and this under local anesthesia.
